Where do I get a domain name from?

You can buy a domain name from any authorised dealer; you aren't required to go through your Web hosting company. Prices for domain name registration vary widely - from as little as $8.00 to $50.00 for the same name so make sure you do your homework.

You'll need to use an accredited domain name registrar or one of their agents.

Most website designers will have a domain registrar (as well as a hosting provider) that they prefer to use, so check with your website designer for their preferred registrar and then look them up on the internet - a google search for domain name registration will provide some more information.

Sometimes there are deals that include domain name registration along with your website hosting - which is often quite useful. Make sure you compare any packages though.
