What's a good domain name?

A good domain name is one that your customers (potential and existing) will recognise and remember.
Here are some tips:
  • Keep your domain name as short as possible - easy to remember and easy to type! (the maximum length for a domain name is 63 characters).
  • Make sure your domain name is easy to remember and not difficult to describe to customers.  Try not to use hyphens or underscores or other special characters. You don't want your customers going to competitors websites with similar names!
  • Try and make your domain name as similar to your business or product name as possible. If you use slang or company initials, your customers might not be able to find you. i.e sewspecial.com is better than ss.com  as people know what your company name is and what your website is about.
