I've had a couple of people ask what the difference is between sponsored links and organic links on the Google Search Results screen.
The sponsored links are there because businesses or companies have paid money via Google Adwords to be placed there. Depending on the keyword or phrase you've searched for, what keyword they've paid for and how much, different results may show up. The sponsored links are located at the top and right hand side of the search results screen and are usually contained in a light yellow box with a "sponsored links" heading above them.
Organic search results are the links provided in the middle. They are ranked based on Google's search algorithm and are sometimes deemed more credible than the "sponsored links".
